If you want to get out and do some shooting this winter there are lots of events to consider


 

There are many more events open to the public this winter than what’s on this list below, including the St. Paul Winter Carnival, the Red Bull Challenge, Sleigh and Cutter events, running races etc. If you know of any that might be fun to shoot, send them to Forrest Pearson for posting on this site.

Also, consider organizing an outing with other club members to get acquainted and to get everyone involved in the action.

Lake Minnetonka Ice Dive

This one can be bitterly cold but tons of fun with lots of action to shoot. There are warming tents to get you through the morning.

Just up I35 a little ways you’ll have the opportunity to photograph Ice Climbers.

A large number of rinks to shoot the players with a warming house to use when there’s a break in the action

LUMINARY LOPPET

Can be cold and spread out over the whole lake, so dress warm. Chance to see if your camera really does shoot good images at high ISO!
