CCC Board Meeting Notes - June 7, 2011

C.C.C. Board Meeting 6/7/2011

Attendees: Bill Cooper, Kathy Hara, Judith Barat, John Olson, Holly & Geoff Kuchera, Bob Solohub, and Lee Swenson

Treasury report – Bob S. reported that the club treasury remained unchanged from last month’s balance of $2622.17. Bob also gave a CCC check to Judith B. for purchasing food, beverages and services for our June 16 year end party and last meeting of this year.

Judging – John O. has completed all judging for the year end images with the help of other volunteer judges as well. He also explained that the CCC offshoot, the Dynolights, will continue to meet through the summer except for July.

Web – No new news. Holly and Geoff proposed a club scoring change for the category of Competitor of The Year. The new scoring would go something like this: when last year’s winner gets to 100 points, then in the successive year, his/her points ( based on ‘acceptable’ scores) would be cut in half for each acceptable judged score beyond 100 points. More discussion and analysis will be done. Bob Solohub agreed to analyze the scoring data from the last several years to determine if 100 points, or some other number, is the best and fairest starting point from which last years winner is to start their scoring. Further discussion is to follow.

Yearbook and web news – (in absentia- submitted by Brian via email to the author). Brian reports that he is still working on a printer for the CCC printed yearbook for 2010-2011. Brian is also assembling/editing the year end meeting images to be presented at our year end meeting on the 16th of June. Brian also took on the task of doing our award plaques/ ribbons et cetera. He tried to get some awards with images to set up on dibond. Unfortunately, the dibond approach for awards did not work out. So Brian will make up some special frames for the awards presentation instead.

Note to all: our year end soiree will be June 16 at 12600 Marion Lane West across the way from the Ridgedale Shopping Center. Currently, we are expecting around 40 people to attend our year end event. Judith requested volunteers to set up and clean up. So, if you can help before or after our meeting, please contact Judith B. or Kathy H. Per Kathy’s email, cocktail/social hour starts at 6:00 p.m. and the dinner is at 7:00 p.m. to be followed by our yearly awards to our club members.

On a final personal note: I want to thank my fellow board members and our general members for giving me the opportunity to serve as scribe for our club the last three years. Thanks to all of you for your service and your friendship.
